At last, Vice President Yemi Osinbajo has declared his intention to run for the post of the president of Nigeria in 2023.
” I formally declare my intention to run for the office of the President, Federal Republic of Nigeria, on the platform of our great party, the All Progressives Congress,” Osinabjo said in a video posted to his social media handles this morning.
Osinbajo had on Sunday met with 12 All Progressives Congress, APC, governors to inform them about his ambition
“I am today, with utmost humility formally declaring my intention to run for the office of the President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria on the platform of APC,” he was quoted on his twitter handle.
This declaration ended months of speculations and muted news reports about Osinbajo’s bid to succeed President Muhammadu Buhari.
Osinbajo is currently the 14th Vice President of Nigeria. He previously served as Attorney General of Lagos State from 1999 to 2007 and holds the title of Senior Advocate of Nigeria (SAN).
