Waste Of Time, SDP Simply A Factionalised Branch Of APC, Galadima Tells El Rufai

…Insists He Has No Plan To Join Party

…Slams Jandor’s Return To APC

A chieftain of the New Nigerian Peoples Party (NNPP), Buba Galadima has claimed that the Social Democratic Party (SDP) is a factionised extension of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) being used to further decimate the opposition in the country.

Galadima stated this as a guest on Arise Television’s Morning Show programme on Tuesday.

Recall that there has been a wave of defections to SDP, with former Kaduna governor, Mallam Nasir El-Rufai among leading political figures to have joined the party.

El-Rufai, who quit the APC after weeks of criticising the party’s alleged lack of internal democracy, urged other notable politicians to join the SDP in a bid to defeat President Bola Tinubu in 2027.

However, Galadima flayed the calls to join SDP, which he described as an appendage of the ruling APC.

According to him, the NNPP as a principled party would not form any coalition for the sake of it.

He said, “The SDP is simply a factionalised branch of the APC. How many non-APC members have defected to the SDP?

“The APC’s character is to decimate the opposition. We must start opposing based on principles, even if it means standing alone. The NNPP is a party of principle and will not enter into coalitions for their own sake.

He also cited the case of former Lagos PDP governorship candidate, Abdul-Azeez Adediran, known as Jandor, who returned to the APC on Monday, citing internal crises in the PDP.

“Look at what Jandor has done. Look at the support the people of Lagos have given Jandor. In fact, I will say that he won the election. It was taken away from him.

“But look at him, he just backpedalled and went back to the APC. How are we going to do opposition? We should do opposition of principles, even if you’re alone, you should stand on your own principles,” Galadima stated.
