After more than 75 days of running without a cabinet, President Bola Ahmed Tinubu may finally inaugurate his cabinet on Monday, 21st August, 2023.
It was gathered that the President is now prepared to run his government at full blast with all Ministers in place in order to deal with many of the social and economic challenges facing the country.
Many Nigerians have expressed concerns about the delay in forming the cabinet following Senate confirmation of 45 of the 48 ministerial nominees sent by President Tinubu since last week Monday.
The Minister-designates, many All Progressives Congress (APC) leaders and the business community had looked forward to the swearing in of the Ministers ahead of possible Federal Executive Council meeting this Wednesday.
Sources close to the Presidential Villa said the schedules of the President this week do not include the swearing in of Ministers.
The source confirmed to our correspondent that the offices of the Chief of Staff and Secretary to the Government of Federation are finalising arrangements for the cabinet inauguration next week Monday and a Ministerial retreat, where the Ministers will be inducted and sign a service charter to commit to faithful implementation of the Renewed Hope Agenda of the administration.
President Tinubu, since he assumed office, has implemented two major policies: fuel subsidy removal and the unification of foreign exchange markets. These policies have heightened economic pressure on the masses due to high cost of living triggered by the two policies.
