Tinubu Campaign Organisation calls for peaceful resolution of Rivers State crisis

The Tinubu Campaign Organisation has urged all parties involved in the Rivers State political crisis to put aside their differences and work towards a peaceful resolution.

In a press release issued on Monday in Abuja by its National Co-ordinator, Joshua Ohioma Ilevbare, TCO stated that the crisis, which has been ongoing for some time, has affected the state’s governance and development, resulting in exposing the governed to excruciating pains and penury.

“We appeal to Governor Siminalayi Fubara, Minister Nyesom Wike, and members of the state House of Assembly to bury their hatchets and prioritise the welfare of the people of Rivers State”, the group said.

TCO noted that the current battle for political supremacy between the governor and the minister has degenerated into an unimaginable crisis, hindering the state’s development and governance.

“It should be noted that the governor as a constituted authority be accorded with the respect and honour due to the office”, the political support group stated.

The organisation pleaded with the state House of Assembly to allow the governor to re-present the 2025 appropriation bill so that the government could start to execute people-oriented developmental projects without any further delay.

Furthermore, TCO emphasised the importance of obeying the Supreme Court judgment by conducting local government elections and providing an enabling environment for the state legislature to operate. Here’s a revised version of the news paragraph:

The group commended President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for his prompt intervention in the crisis, inviting all parties to resolve their differences peacefully.

TCO urged him to continue playing a pivotal role in ending the crisis, ensuring a lasting legacy that will be remembered for generations to come.

The group also urged the Pan Niger Delta Forum (PANDEF) and the Ijaw Youth Forum (IYF) to facilitate mediation and remain impartial in promoting lasting reconciliation and a peaceful resolution of the crisis.
