Delta State Governor Sheriff Oborevwori has called for partnership with oil companies in the funding of the state security fund.
The governor made the call in Asaba on Monday when he received the new Commissioner of Police in the state, Mr. Abaniwonda Olufemi, and his management team on a courtesy visit.
Oborevwori urged the new CP to cooperate with other security agencies in the state to sustain the prevailing peace in order to attract investment and development to the state.
He assured that the state government would procure additional operational vehicles for the police and other security agencies to enhance their work, explaining that the job of the security trust fund was to ensure that security agencies do not lack anything.
“We will continue to support the security trust fund and I encourage the oil companies to also partner the state to support the Security Trust Fund,” the governor said.
