The new Permanent Secretaries and Tutors-General who have been deployed to different ministries with immediate effect were Princess Adebopo Abosede Oyekan-Ismaila (Teaching Service Commission); Mrs. Abisola Khadijat Dokunmu-Adegbite (Audit Service Commission); and Mrs. Ojo Olayinka Modupe (Ministry of Economic Planning and Budget).

Speaking during the swearing-in ceremony at the Lagos House, Ikeja, on Friday, Governor Sanwo-Olu said the appointment is not just a recognition of their hard work, competence, and integrity but also a call to greater service.

He said: “Today’s event underscores our unwavering commitment to strengthening the machinery of governance and ensuring that the values of excellence, accountability, and service delivery remain at the heart of our administration.

“The positions you are stepping into today represent the pinnacle of the civil service hierarchy in Lagos State. They come with immense responsibilities to lead, innovate, and inspire the teams under your purview to achieve the vision of a Greater Lagos.

“I assure you that this administration remains committed to providing the resources, support, and enabling environment you need to succeed in your new roles. I am certain that together we will continue to build on our achievements and chart a future that ensures Lagos State remains a model of development, innovation, and inclusivity.

“As you take on this mantle of leadership, remember that your legacy will be defined not just by the policies you implement but by the lives you transform. The people of Lagos are counting on your wisdom, dedication, and unwavering resolve to make their dreams of a Greater Lagos a reality. Step forward boldly, lead with vision, and let your service stand as a testament to excellence in governance.”

Governor Sanwo-Olu also extended his gratitude to the families of the appointees for their sacrifices and support, noting that their encouragement has played a vital role in shaping them into the exemplary leaders they are today.

Speaking earlier, the Head of Service, Mr. Bode Agoro, said their appointments are in line with the need to reinvigorate Lagos State’s policy implementation apparatus and the continuous identification and elevation of deserving public servants into positions of higher responsibilities where they would be further charged to make more impactful and significant contributions to the actualisation of the Government’s Policy objectives.

He said the appointments of the new Permanent Secretaries and Tutors-General were totally based on merit and unblemished records of quality Public Service. “It will interest you to know that these appointees are deemed to have remained consistent in their commitment, loyalty, and industry over the years and were transparently adjudged deserving of recognition in this regard,” Agoro stated.

In a Vote of Assurance on behalf of the newly appointed Permanent Secretaries and Tutors-General, Mr. Semiu Kadri praised Governor Sanwo-Olu for the confidence reposed in them.

He pledged their commitments to the vision of realising the THEMES+ Agenda of the Babajide Sanwo-Olu administration and also deepening leadership positions to ensure effective service delivery to Lagosians.
