‘Our Petrol Will Be Available In 48 Hours’ Says Dangote As Refinery Begins First Petrol Rollout

Dangote Refinery has commenced the rollout of its first Premium Motor Spirit (Petrol) from its 650,000 barrels per day Lagos-based refinery.

The President of Dangote Group, Aliko Dangote, disclosed this during a press conference with journalists on Tuesday.

He stated that the company’s petrol will substitute import dependence, bring down inflation, and stabilize the Naira against the dollar.

According to him, the petrol will hit the Nigerian market as soon as discussions are finalized with the Nigerian National Petroleum Company Limited.

“The quality will match that of anywhere in the world.

“It is a day of celebration. It is a day to give thanks to God, to give thanks to Mr. President, and also to friends who have been supportive in ensuring that this refinery produces gasoline. We are now here.

“As soon as we finalize with the Nigerian National Petroleum Company, our product will start entering the market.”

Meanwhile, Dangote, has revealed that the Premium Motor Spirit (Petrol) will be available in the Nigerian market in 48 hours, depending on the Nigerian National Petroleum Company Limited.

The African richest man disclosed on Tuesday an interview with Channels Television while officially announcing first the rollout of Petrol from its 650,000 per day Lagos-based refinery on Tuesday in Lagos.

He stressed that the $20 billion refinery will soon finalize talks with NNPCL to get the product across to Nigerians.

Speaking on the price of its petrol, Dangote noted that it will be the arrangement of the Federal Executive Council headed by President Bola Ahmed Tinubu to decide.

“The PMS can be on filling stations in the next 48 hours, depending on NNPCL.

“On PMS price, it is an arrangement that is designed and approved by the Federal Executive Council led by His Excellency, President Bola Ahmed Tinubu. As soon as it is finalised, which is what he is pushing once he finishes with FEC meeting, it can be today or tomorrow we are ready to roll out in the market,” he said.
