Nigeria’s Minister of Aviation, Hadi Sirika yesterday said that international flights will resume on August 29.
The federal government suspended international flights coming into Murtala Muhammed Airport Lagos and the Nnamdi Azikwe Airport, Abuja on March 23 in the bid to curb the influx of imported cases of the virus in the country.
Sirika, who announced the new date for resumption of flights at the bi-weekly Presidential Task Force on COVID-19 briefing yesterday , said the airports will open in batches beginning with Lagos and Abuja.
Nigeria has recorded over 49,485 cases so far. 36,834 cases have recovered while 977 persons reportedly died.
