The Alumnae Association of the 1984 Set of New Era Girls’ Secondary School (NEGSS) announces the commissioning of a state-of-the-art Chemistry Laboratory as part of their 40th Graduation Anniversary celebrations.
This highly anticipated event will take place on October 17 and 18, 2024, at the school’s auditorium in Surulere, Lagos.
Highlighting the alumnae’s dedication to enhancing science education at NEGSS, the refurbished Chemistry Laboratory has been upgraded with cutting-edge equipment and resources. This initiative aims to create a modern, effective learning environment for students, representing the alumnae’s ongoing commitment to academic excellence and their legacy of contributing to the school’s development.
In addition to the commissioning of the laboratory, Olubukola Johnson Adeyemi, Governor of the 1984 Set, announced that a Thanksgiving Ceremony will be held.
This ceremony is designed to celebrate the numerous achievements of NEGSS alumni and to express gratitude for four decades of shared success.

According to Adeyemi, the event will serve as a reflection on the school’s rich history and the lasting impact it has made on its graduates and the wider community.
The event, scheduled for October 17 and 18, 2024, at 10:00 AM, will take place at the New Era Girls’ Secondary School Auditorium, Surulere, Lagos.
Folashade Balogun Jose, Chairperson of the Anniversary Planning Committee, emphasized that this historic occasion promises to be a landmark celebration of education, innovation, and community spirit. She added that the event is expected to attract prominent figures from various sectors, including government officials, education stakeholders, and distinguished alumni.
