Media Rights Agenda (MRA), a non -governmental organisation with a keen focus on freedom of expression, access to information and media development/persecutions, is set to launch a documentary on the government neglect of Araromi community, a settlement in the heart of Ojodu, in central Lagos tomorrow, Thursday, August 20 2020.
Araromi community lacks basic social amenities including roads, pipe-borne water and primary health care, a situation which forced the residents to resort to self-help.
The tweet chat of the documentary tagged: ‘ARAROMI: a Paradox’, concentrates on the abject neglect of the community by relevant government agencies over the years.
The documentary vividly captures the sad turn of events of Araromi (a name which hints of basic comforts through the provision of the basic aspects of life) and the litany of woes besetting the residents due to outright government neglect.
