…Vision Is To Bring Succour To Many Households—Says Pastor Leke Igbojuwo

In their usual October 1st celebration, the Livingspring Full Bible Church  has made another giant stride amid the nation’s economic hardship that is biting many Nigerians, with the sales of food items and other commodities at an affordable rate.

The vision, which was born out of the need to reach out to people within and outside the Itire community, has become a yearly event that most people always anticipate.

Organized every October 1st to mark Nigeria’s Independence Day, the event, which was first held in 2022, has brought smiles to many households in the community.

Speaking at the event on Tuesday, the General Overseer of the Living Spring Bible Church, Pastor Leke Igbojuwo, who spoke with Thepledge in an interview, stated that the initiative was born out of God’s vision.

He noted that the vision was created to bring succor to many families around and propagate the good news of Jesus Christ to them.

“Since 2022, we have been organizing a food sales campaign for everyone, regardless of their religious background. It is an initiative that was commanded by God. It has always been an October 1st celebration, where we give 50% discount from the original price that you get outside. For instance, if a cup of rice is selling for 1,500 naira outside, we are going to sell it for 750.

Pastor Leke Emmanuel Igbojuwo (General Overseer)

“Like you know that anything that is God and you follow the vision very well and you are also able to plan very well, everything will come out successfully. I want to thank Hod for all my members; they buy into the vision, and every year they expect this to happen.

“We are ready to sustain this wonderful initiative till Jesus comes to take his people to His heavenly kingdom. Even if I am no more, those coming after me will continue the vision. The beauty of it all is that they are very delighted with it. Everyone of them is always putting their best into the vision. As you can see, people are using this opportunity to buy food stuff and other items at a cheaper rate. That, I feel, has come handy to the people going by the current economic hardship that many households are facing.

“Organizing this event on October 1st is also a way for us to celebrate the country by way of this vision that is taking place at the moment. It is a yearly event that has brought joy to many families around and at large. So this end, we are celebrating the people and also celebrating ourselves.

“Mind you, there is always room for expansion, but that will be determined by the situation around us. Like during the time of COVID, we are able to reach out to 240 elders, Palm Sunday precisely. Then on Easter Monday, we are also able to give both Christians and Muslims widows; we are able to do something impactful.

“Again, the street lights illuminating our community were carried out by us, and we are to fix any of the lights once they are faulty. This is just one of the many ways we are contributing to lives within our communities.”
