The Lagos State Building Control Agency (LASBCA) has resealed three buildings across the state due to different contraventions of building regulations.

The buildings, which are located in various parts of Lagos, were found to be in violation of multiple safety and construction standards.

According to LASBCA Head, Arc. Gbolahan Oki, the resealing was part of ongoing efforts to ensure compliance with the state’s effort in protecting the lives and property of residents.

The agency noted that the affected structures had previously been marked for contraventions, including unauthorized construction, non-compliance with approved building plans, and failure to obtain necessary permits.

The General Manager of LASBCA, Arc. Gbolahan Oki, emphasized that the agency remains committed to enforcing building regulations across the state. “We cannot afford to overlook violations that put the safety of lives and properties at risk.

The resealing exercise he said “is to ensure that building owners comply with all necessary requirements before continuing any construction work”.

Arc. Oki also warned that LASBCA will continue to carry out regular inspections and enforcement exercises across the state, stressing that any building found to be in violation will face appropriate penalties, including resealing and possible demolition

The agency urged property owners and developers to adhere strictly to building regulations and seek necessary approvals before commencing construction. LASBCA also encouraged members of the public to report any suspected illegal building activities in their neighborhoods to the authorities.

The resent action is part of the Lagos State government’s broader strategy to curb illegal developments and enhance the safety of the built environment.
