Governor Babajide Sanwo-olu yesterday announced a 3-day- weekly work arrangement for civil servants from Levels 1 to 14 as part of measures to cushion the biting effect of harsh economic climate in the country.
The governor who disclosed this during a media chat with journalists on Thursday in Lagos added that officials on levels 15 to 17 will however come to their offices four times in a week.
“From next week, we are working out a plan where civil servants from level 1 to 14 will come to the office maximum three times in a week,” the governor said.
“Not that all forms of government will be shut down. It will be calendarised and scheduled. Those on level 15 to 17 will miss work for one day,” he explained.
Those in the teaching sector, according to the governor, will maintain the five days a week work schedule while the state government will ensure additional transport support for them.
The governor added that the state government will open Sunday Markets in at least 42 identified markets where residents will be able to buy food items at a discounted price.
