I Am Fighting For Survival Of Party, Suspended Spokesman Slams PDP

The National Publicity Secretary of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Debo Ologunagba has responded to reports announcing his suspension from the party.

According to him, he and his group were “fighting a just course for the survival of the party”.

His response came after PDP’s National Working Committee (NWC) said he and the party’s National Legal Adviser, Kamaldeen Ajibade were suspended over allegations of disloyalty and insubordination levelled against them.

A statement signed by the PDP National Director of Publicity, Chinwe Nnorom also noted that the PDP national working committee has directed that the suspended officers, face a disciplinary committee for investigations headed by the PDP’s Deputy National Chairman (South), Taofeek Arapaja.

However, in responding, Ologunagba told Channels Television that the party’s NWC is factionalised, with some members on his side and others on the side of the acting national chairman, Illiya Damagum.

He contended that his suspension cannot stand as he has never been confronted by any organ of the party, nor attended any meeting where the allegations against him were brought up.

He denied attending the meeting where the decision of his suspension was taken.

Although he did not mention the names of the NWC members who are on his side, Ologunagba stated that his group is fighting a just course for the survival of the party.

He alleged that the interests of the acting national chairman and his supporters were doing more harm to the party.
