Hon. Theresa Akwaji Ushie, chairmanship candidate for Bekwarra Local Government Area, cast her vote today at Polling Unit 003, St. Gregory’s Primary School in Ikanda, Beten Ward.
Hon. Ushie arrived at the polling station early, where she praised the efficient organization of the election. Speaking with the press after casting her ballot, she expressed satisfaction with the timely arrival of election materials and the smooth, peaceful proceedings observed across the polling units in Bekwarra. “The timely distribution of materials and the calm atmosphere we’ve seen today are reassuring,” she noted. “Every vote cast today will be counted, including mine, ensuring that the people’s voices are truly heard.”
Known for her advocacy work in the community, Hon. Ushie has been a vocal proponent of peace and development in Bekwarra. Today, she once again encouraged voters to conduct themselves peacefully, urging all participants to respect the process for a fair and just outcome. “I urge everyone to vote responsibly and remain calm throughout. Every vote is significant, and each voice deserves respect. Together, we can shape a brighter future for Bekwarra,” she said.
The atmosphere at Polling Unit 003 was described as calm and orderly, with many voters coming out in support. Election observers reported a strong turnout, noting that voters expressed optimism for a positive transformation in local governance.
