The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) has arrested four top officials of the Nigeria Civil Aviation Authority (NCAA) over allegations of fraud.
According to sources at the commission, the suspects were arrested for suspicious payment of over N2 billion Duty Tour Allowance (DTA) to themselves.
The sources revealed that the Director of Finance and Accounts, Bilkisu Adamu Sani, was among the suspects.
Other officials arrested include Hart Benson Fimienye, the Deputy General Manager of Treasury, Obene Jenbarimiema Turniel, the Deputy General Manager of Management Accounts and Nathaniel Terna Kaainjo, the General Manager of Accounts and Stores.
While Kaainjo was arrested on Thursday, March 16, the remaining suspects were arrested on Monday, March 20.
The EFCC is investigating the suspicious payment of DTA to the officials, which allegedly amounted to over N2 billion. This development has sparked concerns about corruption and financial mismanagement within the NCAA.
The commission has not issued an official statement regarding the arrests, and it remains unclear what charges will be filed against the officials.
