Delta State Government has set up a Task Force to tackle the menace of illegal collection of development levy otherwise known in local parlance as “deve,” from those who illegally occupy government land/property and erect structures on them.
Secretary to the State Government, Dr. Kingsley Emu, in a statement, said the governor has already constituted an eight-man Taskforce on Land recovery and demolition of illegal structures:

(i) Mr. Frank Omare – Director-General (Special Duties)….Chairman
(ii) Hon. David Tonwe – Director-General (Security)……Member.
(iii) Mr. Emmanuel Chinye – Chairman, Delta State Waste Management Board…..Member,
(iv) Hon. Jaro Egbo – Special Adviser (Transport)….Member
(v) Chief Godspower Asiuwhu – Chairman, Delta State Task Force on Environment…. Member.
(vi) Representative, – Ministry of Lands & Survey….Member.
(vii) Representative, – Ministry of Urban Renewal….Member.
(viii) Chukwuka Imarhia, – Executive Assistant (Security)…….Member/Secretary,
The Terms of Reference of the Task Force is to take measures to discourage land grabbing; protect the sanctity of the master plan of cities in Delta State, including the Capital Territory, and to make appropriate recommendations to the State Government.
