Executive Vice Chairman of the Nigerian Communications Commission (NCC), Prof. Umar Danbatta has been awarded the Fellowship of the Nigeria Institute of Labour (NIL) under the Federal Ministry of Labour and Employment.
The conferment of the award which took place at the Michael Imoudu National Institute of Labour Studies (MINILS) in Abuja recently, was part of the events marking the 40th Anniversary/Founders Day ceremony of the Institute.
Director-General of the Institute, Isa Aremu, said Danbatta was honoured for his contributions to the NCC and the national workforce.
Also honoured was the Director, Human Capital and Administration of the Commission, Usman Malah, who is driving the effectiveness of the workforce at NCC.
Danbatta, who was represented by Malah, at the event, stressed the import of collectively supporting initiatives that enhance the well-being of Nigerian workers through increased access to affordable telecom services adding that through a digitally skilled workforce Nigeria can fast-track national productivity and development.
He assured that the Commission would ensure affordable and available telecom services to ease the daily activities of Nigerian workers.
Aremu, the MINILS DG, commended the Commission for promoting the deployment of telecommunications services to improve productivity and efficiency across different sectors of the economy.
