Culture, Traditional Display On Centre Stage At Ososa Omoroyo Day 2024 Celebration

The 2024 Edition of Ososa Omoroyo Day celebration came alive in Ososa town, leaving an indelible mark on the community.

The event was a resounding success, filled with excitement, cultural displays, traditional performances, peer interactions, and emotional upliftment.

The celebration showcased the rich heritage and traditions of the Ososa community, featuring cultural dances, traditional drumming, and performances by local artists. The atmosphere was electrified, with attendees immersed in an atmosphere of joy and connection.

The Ososa Omoroyo Day celebration is a testament to the community’s commitment to preserving their cultural identity and promoting unity amongst its people. This year’s event will be remembered for a long time, and the community is already looking forward to next year’s celebration.

The Gbegande of Ososaland, Oba Dr. Mojeed Adetoye Alatishe, MD,FAGP was beaming with excitement as he showered praises on the Sons and Daughters who witnessed the occasion. His enthusiasm was palpable as he commended their presence and encouraged them to continue coming back home to contribute to the town’s economic growth.



Oba Dr. Alatishe’s passion for his community’s development is evident in his leadership style. As a monarch who has been instrumental in transforming Ososa in the last decade, his vision for the town’s progress is inspiring. His commitment to promoting Social and economic growth development in Ososa is a testament to his dedication to his people.

The monarch’s words of encouragement and praise served as a morale booster to the Sons and Daughters of Ososa, motivating them to strive for excellence and contribute to the town’s prosperity. His leadership and guidance have created a sense of commitments and sense of belonging amongst the people of Ososa, and his excitement and enthusiasm are contagious, inspiring others to work together towards a brighter future.

“Since last December, Ososa has witnessed significant economic progress, thanks to investments from indigene and non-indigenes. In healthcare, the Ososa sons and daughters of UK/Ireland have donated a modern Ante natal clinic, complementing the medical porta cabin provided by Rotary International of Lagos. I also commend the financial members of OSND of UK for this laudable structure and their annual donation of 5000 exercise books, not forgetting Hon Barrister Oluwafemi Ogunbanwo’s donation of a 500kv transformer, which believe to have put an end to the electricity crisis in Osalakoye, Idomowo Oke-Esin,Oke-Ala and part of Ijoku areas of Ososa town”, Oba Alatishe said

Also in his address, the Chairman, 2024 Ososa Omoroyo Day Planning Committee, Chief Abayomi Idowu Adewunmi, rejoiced with all sons and daughters of the town for witnessing this year’s edition of Omoroyo day, which according to him is holding back to back with Omoroyo Day 2023 after 31 years of lacunae.

He recalled that last year’s theme was “Building Consensus” which was to encourage citizens to work together, build together and achieve together”.

He highlighted that this year’s theme is “Creat Hope —–in yourself, community and the world”

He said the theme is inspirational and assists in focusing on the future needs of the community.

The Planning Committee Chairman expressed gratitude to the entire membership of the committee for their support and tireless efforts.

Attendance at the memorable event include Special Guest of Honour, Oni of Ife, Oba Enitan Ogunwusi, who was represented by Onifegunwa of Ifegunwa, Ile -Ife, Osun State, Oba Adedire Adewale Solomon,
Ogun State Governor, Member, House of Representatives, Hon Ogunbanwo Adeleke Olufemi, the Executive Chairman, Odogbolu Local Authority Odogbolu, Ogun State , Minority Leader, Ogun State House of Assembly, Hon. Lukman Adeleye, Honourable member, representing Odogbolu State Constituency, Architect Adeboye Ogunbadejo(MNIA), President, Ososa United Society, Dr.Rotarian Wale Ogunbadejo, Chairman of the Day among others

Highlights of the event include among others are the parade of clubs/Regberegbes, Cultural displays Egungun, Epa, Jigbo,Gbedu dance, Presentation of Merit awards/Honoring and installations of one of the notable Son Otunba Ayodele James Idowu the Secretary of the Planning Committee and Ososa United Society and his wife were conferred with Otunba and Yeye Otunba Bobaselu of Ososa land respectively.
