L: Mrs Sandra Egbayelo, Councillorship aspirant in Lagos State
A female aspirant in the forthcoming councillorship election in Lagos State, Mrs Sandra Egbayelo, has vowed to give attention to women and youth empowerment.
Egbayelo, who described women and youth as the backbone of any society, made the pledge while donating five litres of petrol to each of 500 beneficiaries.
The beneficiaries include vulcanisers, pepper grinders, tricyclists and shuttle bus drivers.
Egbayelo, an aspirant on the platform of All Progressives Congress (APC), is seeking election as a councillor for Ward F in Yaba Local Council Development Area.
The aspirant promised to sponsor bills and initiate empowerment programmes for women and youths, if elected.
She said she would push for education of illiterate women and creation of employment opportunities for the youth.
“I will use my experience as a grassroots politician and a community leader to bring development to the good people of Ward F in Yaba Local Council Development Area.
“I want to use the opportunity to offer our people visionary, competent and purposeful leadership,” she said.
The aspirant said that she had the skills, attitude and knowledge to serve as a councillor in the council area.
A vulcaniser and beneficiary of the donation, Mr Olukayode Oshikomaya, thanked the aspirant.
He said that the aspirant was putting smiles on the faces of her people.
A commercial bus driver, Mr Gbolahan Adamson, said that the petrol would be of benefit.
