CALL FOR APPLICATION

To contribute to enhancing the capacity of female journalists to work safely online and to contribute to the general awareness about safety and privacy online, the Centre for Information Technology and Development (CITAD) is calling for participants in its Keep Female Journalists Safe online Programme. The programme consists of three components:

1. A two-day residential training on online safety and privacy

2. A five-day mentoring session to be spread over four weeks

3. Public awareness activities

This is an invitation for female journalists residing in any of the states listed below to apply for participation in the programme. To be eligible, interested female journalists:

1. Should be working with a media organisation

2. Should be resident in any of the following states;  Bauchi, Gombe, Yobe, Adamawa, Kano, Jigawa and Kaduna

3. Must be digitally literate and has active social media handles

4. Should be willing to conduct a public awareness programme in her community or media where she works

Application should be sent to info@citad.org not later than September 10, 2021.
 Such applications should include:

1. A cover later

2. Short profile of the applicant

3. A brief about the media where the applicant works, including number of female journalistic working there.

Note that because there are few spaces, not all applicants will be selected.
