Governor Diri described as unfortunate and sad the fatal accident that claimed the lives of the gallant officers in Abuja on Wednesday.

His Chief Press Secretary, Mr. Daniel Alabrah, said in a condolence message on Thursday that as a special son of Bayelsa, the governor and indeed the whole state share in the grief of the former Nigerian leader.

He said to lose an aide that has worked closely with you is always a painful experience and prayed God to strengthen Dr. Jonathan and the deceased’s families.

While condoling with the families of the late Inspectors Ibrahim Abazi and Yakubu Toma, Governor Diri urged them to take solace in the fact that they departed in the line of duty and their service to the country would not be in vain.

The Bayelsa governor also condoled with the Police High Command and the Inspector-General of Police over the death of the officers, saying they are a huge loss to the Force.
