At least two female staff of the Lagos state government were confirmed dead on the spot when a staff bus had a collision with a passenger train along the Agege motor road area of Lagos early this morning .
An unspecified number of people were also critically injured when the staff bus which attempted to cross the PWD/Sogunle rail crossing unfortunately collided with the train coming into Lagos from Abeokuta .
The train reportedly dragged the bus from the Sogunle vicinity of the collision to the PWD area of Ikeja, a distance of about 300 metres.
Spokesperson for the Lagos State Traffic Management Authority, Mr. Taofiq Adebayo said rescue operation was on-going as officials of LASEMA, NEMA, Police, FRSC, Civil Defence and the Nigeria Railway Corporation team converged on the scene.

Meanwhile, the injured passengers have been rushed to the Lagos State University Teaching Hospital (LASUTH), Ikeja.
The accident caused a gridlock on the Lagos-Abeokuta Expressway for motorists coming from Oshodi around Shogunle to Ikeja-Along
