Dr. Betty Anyanwu-Akeredolu, the wife of late Governor of Ondo State, Rotimi Akeredolu, his children, and siblings led by Prof. Wole Akeredolu, the immediate younger brother, received the body of the late governor which arrived Nigeria this evening from Germany.
Akeredolu died on December 26, 2023 from prostate cancer. The plane conveying the body arrived at the Airport, at about 3:39 p.m. on Friday, January 5, 2024.
Present to receive the body were the Secretary to the Ondo State Government, Princess Oladunni Odu and some members of the state executive council, Mr. Tayo Ayinde, Chief of Staff to Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu of Lagos state and the Secretary to the Ogun State Government, Mr. Tokunbo Talabi .
Others include the Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Ondo State, Mr. Ade Adetimehin and a member of the House of Representatives, Gboyega Adefarati.
The body was later moved to a private mortuary.
