Aiyedatiwa Pays Homage to Afenifere

Governor Lucky Aiyedatiwa of Ondo state recently paid homage to the leader of the pan Yoruba socio-cultural group (Afenifere), Pa Reuben Fasoranti and other Afenifere leaders and acknowledged their contributions to the resolution of the crisis in the state.

“I extend my heartfelt greetings to Chief Reuben Fasoranti and the distinguished elders present. Your wisdom and guidance have been invaluable to our state’s stability. In the past, during challenging times, your intervention, particularly the letter you wrote to President Bola Tinubu advocating constitutional adherence, restored peace to our state. Your counsel has been instrumental,” he said .

Governor Aiyedatiwa also informed the Afenifere elders about plans to accord a befitting burial to late Governor Rotimi Akeredolu as well as his determination to continue to complete ongoing developmental projects and programmes in the state..

In a related development . Governor Aiyedatiwa pledged his support for the continuity of the regional security outfit codenamed Amotekun. The outfit was founded on January 9, 2020, and charged with the responsibility of curbing insecurity in the states of the region.

The governor gave the assurance on Thursday after officers and men of the corps staged a five -kilometre walk from the Cathedral area to the Governor’s office in Akure, the state capital in honour of late Governor Oluwarotimi Akeredolu.
